Spotfire Reveals Developer Tools for Spotfire DXP 2.0

New Spotfire DXP Developer and Spotfire Technology Network web site allow Developers to customize and extend the Spotfire enterprise analytics platform
SOMERVILLE, Mass., May 14 -- Spotfire, Inc. (http://www.spotfire.com/), the Information Insight Company(SM), today announced Spotfire DXP Developer and Spotfire Technology Network, new tools to allow developers to extend the Spotfire DXP 2.0 enterprise analytics platform for next generation business intelligence. Spotfire DXP Developer allows customers and partners to fully customize the Spotfire DXP enterprise analytics platform to meet the unique business processes and analytic needs of any enterprise and give everyone the ability to quickly discover new insights in the information they work with each day.

Enterprise Extensibility
With the release of Spotfire DXP 2.0, Spotfire is releasing a complete set of application programming interfaces (APIs) for not only configuring and automating the platform, but also extending it with entirely new capabilities. The APIs, which support custom application development, "mash-ups" and other integration, are used to create custom Spotfire DXP Extensions. Extensions are compiled, licensable code packages that, from the end users perspective, are virtually indistinguishable from the core Spotfire DXP product. Extensions enable such functions as:
-- Import data from custom files, databases and web services
-- Export data to a range of formats and locations
-- Add automated, custom calculations and statistical methods
-- Display custom data visualizations
Spotfire DXP Developer offers access to the Spotfire DXP Software Development Kit (SDK), which enables developers and technologists to turn the Spotfire DXP enterprise analytics platform into a fully customized application for any type of business user. The SDK includes:
-- Assemblies necessary to compile and debug custom extensions in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005,
-- A full set of example code, written in Microsoft's C#, that demonstrates each of the extension types that can be built and shows developers and technologists how to use the API for custom automation and integration projects.
