Kawasaki BRUTE FORCE(TM) 750 4X4i Sport-Utility ATV Takes the Helm
Flagship 4x4 ATV leads the industry in power and performance
Kawasaki was responsible for introducing the world to the high-performance 4x4 allterrain vehicle (ATV) when it unveiled the mighty Prairie® 650 4x4 and its successor, the Prairie 700 4x4. Both of these Kawasaki ATVs amazed riders with their awesome V-twin engines, incredible four-wheel drive systems, supple ride quality and superior handling. It's little wonder they dominated magazine shootouts and received numerous accolades.
Kawasaki is now topping its own success, however, with the all-new 2005 BRUTE FORCE(TM) 750 4x4i, a leading-edge sport utility 4x4 that gives off-road enthusiasts the exhilarating power and performance they want.
The new 2005 Brute Force 750 4x4i is the most powerful, high-performance model in its class, offering a superior balance of rider comfort and convenience features. Built with adventure enthusiasts and sportsmen in mind, it includes new body work, the largest engine in its class - and it's the first Kawasaki 4x4 ATV to utilize a fully independent rear suspension (IRS) system.
Powering the Brute Force 750 4x4i is Kawasaki's revolutionary 90-degree, four-stroke V-twin engine. With a bore and stroke of 85 x 66mm, it displaces 749cc and features new plated aluminum cylinders, a reverse-facing air intake, new 34mm downdraft carburetors and straight intake tracts, and four valves per cylinder. Also featured is a high-efficiency radiator mounted high in the chassis where it is best protected from mud and debris.
To assist with braking, the engine features Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which helps to slow the ATV when traversing steep downhills.
Like the Prairie 700 4x4, the Brute Force 750 4x4i transfers power from its V-twin engine to the wheels through a continuously variable transmission (CVT) featuring high and low range, plus reverse. By pressing a button on the handlebar, the rider can also select two- or four-wheel-drive operation. In four-wheel-drive mode, the Brute Force utilizes a limited-slip front differential, which eases steering effort under most riding conditions. The rider can also engage the Variable Front Differential Control to deliver torque equally to the right and left front wheels for maximum traction.
The front drive shafts of the Brute Force feature new Cardan joints - another industry first. Similar to U-joints, Cardan joints help absorb torque fluctuations to the drift shaft, and its lightweight design helps to reduce vibration.
The differential and sealed rear braking system has been redesigned in conjunction with the new IRS. Smaller and more compact, the differential is extremely rugged and efficient.
Dual front discs and Kawasaki's highly acclaimed rear braking system provide maximum stopping power for the Brute Force 750 4x4i. The rear braking system's internal components are completely sealed to protect them from mud, dust and debris, and its compact size provides for more ground clearance than a conventional rear disc brake system.
The Brute Force 750 4x4i utilizes a simple, yet sturdy double-cradle frame made of tubular steel, while the suspension is all-new for a Kawasaki 4x4 ATV. In place of the MacPherson struts and aluminum swingarm featured on the Prairie 700 4x4, the Brute Force features front dual A-arms and IRS. The front dual A-arms have adjustable shocks with 6.7 inches of travel, while the IRS features a leading torsion bar and provides 7.9 inches of travel. By utilizing a combination of needle bearings and ball joints in the lower rear A-arms, the new IRS provides smooth suspension action for high stability and excellent rider comfort.
The combination of the new chassis and suspension provides the Brute Force with 10.6 inches of ground clearance - an inch more than that of the Prairie 700 4x4. In addition, the Brute Force rides on restyled wheels shod with 12-inch tires featuring larger, more aggressive tread blocks.
Rider position on the Brute Force 750 4x4i is more upright and sits nearly two and-a-half inches higher than that of the Prairie 700 4x4, enhancing the rider's ability to scan the horizon. Plus, the new automotive-style instrument panel is positioned more vertically to suit the new riding position.
As the blue print for Kawasaki's future 4x4 ATV design, the body work and front grille of the Brute Force are bigger, stronger and tougher-looking than the Prairie lineup. Made of Thermo-Plastic Olefin, the new plastic has a high-gloss appearance and is scratch-resistant. Available colors include Aztec Red, Hunter Green, Desert Yellow and REALTREE HARDWOODS GREEN® HD(TM) camouflage.
Other features include the ATV industry's first four-bulb headlights, which provide an abundant swath of lighting for nighttime rides, and storage compartments located in the left and right front fenders.
Like the Prairie 700 4x4, the Brute Force 750 4x4i features full-sized floorboards and the seat has a new shape with more padding for improved rider comfort. To enhance chassis balance, the large 5.4-gallon fuel tank is positioned beneath the seat.
The Brute Force can carry a combined weight of 264 pounds on its cargo racks and has a tow rating of 1,250 pounds.
