Splitters and DWDM Components suit passive optical networks.

Press Release Summary:

Outside plant (OSP) splitters offer re-enterable closures for node scalability. LGX® module splitters integrate into existing optical shelves in central office and head-end of optical access network. Design permits accessibility to network ports, while providing network modularity with pluggable modules. Arrayed Waveguide Grating DWDM MUX/DMUX has insertion loss of less than 3.5 dB and 40 channels set on ITU 100 GHz channel spacing.

Blaine, Minnesota: APA Optics will show new outside plant (OSP) splitters, LGX® module splitters and AWG DWDM components as part of its growing line of DWDM and PON components at the upcoming OFC Show.

OSP Ready Splitters Simplify PON Field Components

Reliability and performance of passive optical networks (PON) benefit from wide wavelength response and good port uniformity. These APA Optics outside plant (OSP ready) splitters meet these requirements consistently and reliably. They simplify installation of PON field components. The splitter closure is re-enterable allowing node scalability. They are ideal for lowering first cost installation allowing for a "pay as you grow" network deployment.

LGX® Module Splitters For Passive Optical Networks

These new LGX® module splitters integrate into existing optical shelves in the central office and headend of an optical access network. The LGX® design allows accessibility to network ports while providing network modularity with pluggable modules.

Ultra Low Loss Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) DWDM Handles Up To 40 Channels

The new AWG DWDM MUX/DMUX has an ultra low loss insertion of less than 3.5 dB. The module has 40 channels set on the ITU 100GHz channel spacing. This AWG DWDM has an excellent 30 dB adjacent channel isolation and a low PDL of 0.35 dB.

See these and the complete line of APA Optics products at OFC '03 in Booth #6950.
