When Size and Color Matter... tesa Enhances Line of Splicing Tapes for Print Applications
CHARLOTTE, NC, USA - July 14, 2003, - tesa tape, inc., a global leader in the manufacture and supply of pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes, today released a new tape intended for use in splicing applications within the commercial print industry. This new product - tesa 53008 - is the company's latest innovation within its adhesive transfer tape family, a subset of the company's extensive line of splicing tapes.
tesa 53008 is a unique double-sided adhesive transfer tape designed for commercial printers that utilize zero-speed splicing technology (a distinctive system of splicing paper rolls together during the continuous print process).
By design, tesa 53008 encompasses several distinguishing characteristics. Most notably, the tape itself is red in color, making it extremely visible for identifying splice areas. Second, because the tape has no backing, it is extremely thin, measuring in at only two mils thick. This is an especially attractive feature when thickness of total materials running through the press is a concern. Third, it has a highly siliconized liner that removes easily from even the most fragile grades of paper without tearing the paper.
