Spin Block inspects concentricity and straightness.

Press Release Summary:

Model RVM-100 Spin Roll Rotary V Block measures concentricity of circular and round-shafted objects to 000005 T.I.R. Workpiece is inserted between 3 intermeshing contact rolls and against end stop, then rotates on its own circumference, achieving precise concentricity while maintaining linear position. Part can be loaded quickly, easily and accurately, and is mounted vertically or horizontally. Workpiece dia ranges from 1/64 to 1-1/4 in.

Ascension Industries Introduces St. Mary Model RVM-100 Spin Roll Rotary

(November 2001) - Ascension Industries, Inc. of North Tonawanda, New York, introduces its new St. Mary Manufacturing Model RVM-100 Spin Roll Rotary "V" Block. According to the company, the new RVM-100 inspects the concentricity and straightness of circular and round-shafted objects quickly, safely and accurately, assuring concentricity to .00005 T.I.R. The workpiece is inserted between the three intermeshing contact rolls of the St. Mary RVM-100 and against the end stop, which adjusts to the length required. The workpiece rotates on its own circumference, achieving precise concentricity while maintaining linear positioning, Ascension states. Due to the greater ratio of diameter-of-rolls to diameter-of-workpiece, the workpiece makes many revolutions per turn of the rolls. Ascension says the workpiece can be loaded quickly, easily and accurately, and mounted vertically or horizontally. Workpiece diameter capacity ranges from 1/64" to 1-1/4" and finished lengths are from 11/16" to 8" standard. Special roll widths are available for shorter lengths. The unit is portable, and the handle fits a choice holding positions for operation. The RVM-100 features precision ground center bearings and adjustable spring pressure clamping. The unit weighs 20 pounds and measures 7- 1/4"L x 4-1/2"H x 6-1/4"W.
