Speedline Showcases New Camalot FX-D Dispensing System and Electrovert OmniFlex(TM) 7 Reflow Oven at APEX 2007

FRANKLIN, Mass., Dec. 19 -- In addition to the new Camalot FX-D dispensing system and Electrovert OmniFlex 7 reflow oven, Speedline Technologies will introduce the Electrovert VectraES(TM) wave soldering system to the North American market at APEX in Los Angeles, CA. These new systems, featured in booth number 1853, round out Speedline's most technologically advanced and cost-effective equipment lineup for the SMT and semiconductor industries.

Camalot

Jetting Technology Debuts on the Award Winning XyflexPro®+ Dispensing System. Apex 2007 will host a preview of a new, innovative Jetting Technology that, when combined with the XyflexPro+ and its advanced linear drive system, sets new standards for speed and accuracy in the industry. A demonstration will be setup for Jetting of Underfill live throughout the show. Come and see the "future" for Underfill dispensing.

New FX-D Dispenser Introduced. Unparalleled applications flexibility and reasonable acquisition cost were design drivers for Speedline Technologies' new Camalot FX-D dispensing system. As process requirements change, this unique system can be easily reconfigured in the field, giving it outstanding value in the mid-market dispensing segment. Features of the FX-D include Benchmark software, a Windows®-based operating system that provides fast, user-friendly program creation and changeover, and a highly accurate gantry system utilizing precision ball screws driven by closed-loop DC servomotors.

Electrovert

Providing exceptional performance at a highly competitive price, the OmniFlex 7 is available in both air and nitrogen configurations, and can meet a wide variety of process requirements, including traditional high-volume reflow, curing, and hybrid applications with both lead and lead-free alloys. At the same time, the OmniFlex 7 ensures the lowest possible cost of ownership by maximizing efficiency and minimizing system downtime. In combination with exceptional heating and cooling technologies, the OmniFlex 7 incorporates a host of features not typically provided as standard equipment in this market segment, making it the price/performance leader.

Electrovert's VectraES wave soldering system joins the industry recognized VectraElite(TM) and Electra(TM) platforms. With its exceptional system wide accessibility, advanced control system, and innovative sub-system technologies the VectraES provides an ideal balance between system performance, functionality, and low cost of ownership.

Also on display will be Electrovert's award-winning Aquastorm aqueous cleaning system, featuring new configurations to meet the challenges of lead- free cleaning and drying. Rounding out the Electrovert line-up is the Soldapak rework/repair station, a field-proven platform designed for flexibility and capable of handling lead-free temperatures up to 315 degrees C (600 degrees F). The Soldapak is part of Electrovert's Assembly & Production Aids which includes temperature reading labels, small solder pots, wave dippers, Kleenox, and the Lev Chek.

MPM

Speedline will display several exciting new options for the award-winning MPM Accela printing system at APEX, including SpeedVision(TM), which is a new high-speed inspection option capable of performing full 2D inspection of both the substrate and the stencil at line speed. The technologies employed are Speedline's patented texture-based and contrast algorithms for image processing and quantification. Driven by three new patent-pending methods for dramatically increasing the speed of printer-based inspection by up to 80%, SpeedVision enables quantitative 2D inspection at line speeds.

A new option for process setup verification and traceability utilizing bar code reading capability and enhancements in the machine software will also be launched. This has been sought by manufacturers in numerous market segments for ensuring and documenting process quality for high reliability applications and to satisfy RoHS compliance.

Two MPM AccuFlex stencil printers will also be on display. The two different configurations represent the platform's unrivalled flexibility. Speedline will showcase the system's new VacuNest tooling, a simple-to-use solution that requires minimal setup time and provides the benefit of a dedicated support tool with the flexibility of pin-based systems and various other tooling options. The AccuFlex system has gained acceptance across all tiers of the worldwide marketplace due to its ease of use and reliable service.
