Spectroscopy Sampling Systems mate with NeSSI platform.

Press Release Summary:

Interfacing to remote Raman spectrometer by means of fiber-optic cables, RFP-400Ne Surface Mount Raman Flow Cells combine flexible RFP-400 Raman probes with surface mount sampling fixture, which mates to standard 1.5 in. square NeSSI substrate. Based on ANSI/ISA SP76.00.02-2002 standard, NeSSI initiative standardizes and simplifies design of systems used in chemical process analysis.

Axiom Analytical, Inc. Announces the First Raman Spectroscopy Sampling Systems for use with the Industry Standard NeSSI Process Analytical Platform

IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 25, 2007 - Axiom Analytical Inc., a leading supplier of sampling equipment, software, and integrated systems for all forms of vibrational spectroscopy, today announced the availability of its RFP-400Ne Surface Mount Raman Flow Cells designed specifically to mate to the standard NeSSI (ANSI/ISA SP76.00.02-2002) platform.

NeSSI (New Sampling/Sensor Initiative) is an industry initiative undertaken to standardize and simplify the design of systems used in chemical process analysis. A significant part of this initiative has been the development of modular, miniature, and automated sample system technology using a platform based on the ANSI/ISA SP76.00.02-2002 standard. This platform defines a standard mounting and interfacing geometry for a new generation of surface mount analytical components. Among the benefits of the NeSSI platform are modular assembly and replacement, short sample lines, fast response, compact design, low sample volume, and a high level of automation.

Until recently, the emphasis in the development of NeSSI compatible hardware has been on devices for sample conditioning and control and on scalar sensors for such variables as temperature, pressure and flow rate. Axiom Analytical recently extended these developments to encompass multi-dimensional sensor systems employing near-IR and UV-visible spectroscopy. With the introduction of its RFP-400Ne, Axiom has now further extended NeSSI technology to encompass Raman spectroscopy, a powerful technique which combines the specificity of mid-infrared spectroscopy with the convenience and flexibility of near-infrared. The new sampling systems combine Axiom's flexible RFP-400 Raman probes with a surface mount sampling fixture which mates to a standard 1.5 inch square NeSSI substrate. The system is designed to be interfaced to a remote Raman spectrometer by means of fiber-optic cables.

Pittcon 2008
The RFP-400Ne Surface Mount Raman Flow Cells will be exhibited at Axiom's booth (#4323) at the upcoming Pittcon Conference, in New Orleans.
