PerkinElmer/SCIEX Introduces ELAN 9000 And ELAN DRC ICP-MS Systems

NEW ORLEANS - PerkinElmer/SCIEX, the world leader in Inductively-Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), has introduced two new ELAN(R) ICP-MS systems. The ELAN 9000 ICP-MS system simplifies ICP-MS by providing an easy-to-use, easy-to-maintain tool for routine ultratrace level analysis, while the ELAN DRC II system offers maximum performance for traditionally difficult samples.

The innovative ELAN DRC II system eliminates polyatomic interferences completely, using its patented Dynamic Reaction Cell(TM) with performance-enhancing Axial Field(TM) technology.
Using a process called chemical resolution, the ELAN DRC II instrument eliminates plasma-based polyatomic interferences before they reach the quadrupole mass spectrometer.

The ELAN 9000 system provides excellent detection limits, high sample throughput, and the stability required by environmental, clinical, geochemical, and general testing laboratories with
moderate to heavy loads of ultratrace level samples. The ELAN 9000 system ensures accuracy and improves method development. It consistently delivers the right answer, reducing rework and improving productivity.

The new instruments are built on the most successful ICP-MS platform ever created, featuring a dual inlet turbomolecular pump and improved cooling systems, making the ELAN ICP-MS instruments the most rugged, reliable, and easiest to maintain systems available. An integrated peristaltic pump with tubing saver dramatically reduces sample uptake time, improving productivity. Tubing saver, combined with automatic start and stop, extends productivity beyond normal working hours.

With over 35 years experience and a product line that extends from entry level Atomic Absorption (AA) spectroscopy systems to flexible Inductively-Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) instrumentation to powerful ICP-MS systems, PerkinElmer is the worldwide leader in inorganic analysis.
