Spectrometer features fixed internal gratings.

Press Release Summary:

CCD Based Spectrometer offers 3 configurations: UV (200-400 nm), VIS (400-700 nm), and NIR (700-1050 nm). All plug directly into computer's RS-232 port. By coupling 1 of 3 fixed intensity lamp sources to one of several available fiber patch cords, amount and type of light can be controlled. Cuvette holder is useful for transmission, absorption, or fluorescence applications. Spectral data can be recorded and analyzed using included BWSpec software.

Edmund Industrial Optics Announces CCD Based Spectrometer

July 31, 2002, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Industrial Optics (EO) of Barrington, New Jersey has announced the release of the CCD Based Spectrometer. This system's fixed internal gratings allow it to provide greater stability and reliability than other instruments.

There are three standard configurations available for UV (200-400nm), VIS (400-700nm), and NIR (700-1050nm) wavelengths. All three spectrometers (UV, VIS, & NIR) plug directly into a computer's RS-232 port with the included cable, or to a USB port by way of a converter.

By coupling one of three fixed intensity lamp sources to one of several available fiber patch cords, the amount and type of light can be controlled. The 5W Deuterium source, with a spectral
range of 190-450nm, is ideal for UV spectrometers; while the 5W Tungsten source, with a range of 400-1100nm, is preferred for VIS and NIR spectrometers. The 5W Deuterium/3W Tungsten combo is the economical choice for versatile applications. SMA fiber patch cords with core diameters ranging from 50 to 1000 microns are available.

The 10mm Cuvette holder is useful for transmission, absorption, or fluorescence applications, and has three SMA905 connections to illuminate a sample or detect light from it. The reflectance
probe illuminates samples via two 200 micron fibers and captures reflected light through a 200 micron fiber.

Spectral data can be recorded and analyzed using the included, easy to learn BWSpec software, which will capture single or continuous spectra and supports functions such as dark subtraction and intensity comparison. The software is compatible with Windows® 95, 98, ME, 2000, and NT 4.0. The optional CSpecW software provides automatically timed spectrum saving, color analysis, math functions, and a platform for applications.
