SPE Filters features triple layer construction.

Press Release Summary:

Optimized for extraction of EPA Method 1664 samples, Oil and Grease, Xenosep® SPE Filters combine prefilter layer that traps 5-25 µm particulates, intermediate prefilter that traps particulate in 1-5 µm range, and adsorbent layer with chemically treated fibers that retain oil and grease analytes. Trapping particulates at each layer enables efficient filtration of dirty real-world samples, measured in less than 3 minutes, which previously would have taken hours to filter.

NEW Triple Layer SPE Filter for EPA Method 1664A Processes Real-World Dirty Samples in Less than 3 Minutes

Xenosep® Technologies has introduced a line of SPE filters with triple layer construction that are optimized for extraction of EPA Method 1664 samples, Oil and Grease. The unique triple layer Xenosep® SPE filters enable quick and efficient processing of difficult samples with high levels of particulate. A coarse prefilter layer traps 5-25 µm particulates. The intermediate prefilter traps particulates in the 1-5 µm range and the Oil and Grease analytes are retained by the chemically treated fibers of the adsorbent layer.

Trapping particulates at each layer enables efficient filtration of dirty real-world samples measured in minutes that previously would have taken hours to filter or could not be completely filtered at all. In a recent test using a 47 mm Xenosep SPE filter and a specially designed Xenosep SPE apparatus, a sample containing 14 g of solids plus 40 mg of the EPA Method 1664A QC standard was completely filtered in less than 3 minutes. HEM recovery was 93.4%.
