Spansion Unveils MirrorBit® ORNAND(TM) Product Roadmap for the Integrated Flash Memory Market


Expands Market Opportunities for Data Storage in Automotive, Consumer and Networking Applications

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 17 --Spansion Inc. (NASDAQ:SPSN), the world's largest pure-play provider of Flash memory solutions, today unveiled detailed product roadmaps for new MirrorBit® ORNAND(TM) solutions optimized for data storage in automotive electronics, consumer, networking and wireless segments of the Flash memory market. In addition, Spansion announced that its previously announced 1Gb MirrorBit ORNAND product for the wireless market is now in production at Fab 25. The MirrorBit ORNAND roadmap announced today includes:

o a family of 3-volt MirrorBit ORNAND devices, ranging from 128 Mb to
2Gb, that provides an optimized NAND-interface data storage solution
for automotive, consumer and networking applications. The first in the
3-volt MirrorBit ORNAND family, a 2 Gb device, will sample this quarter
and be in production in the fourth quarter;
o a 1.8 volt 512 Mb MirrorBit ORNAND product for the mainstream wireless
phone market, which is sampling now and will be in production in the
third quarter;
o Pilots for a two-chip secure HD-SIM solution in the second half of the
year; as well as a single-chip solution starting from 128 Mb and 512Mb in 2007.
o With progress made with MirrorBit Quad technology, Spansion will
introduce products based on this technology later this year.
