Spain's Largest Telecommunications Group Choose Thomson's Head End Equipment and TV Mobility Video Services Platform for Digital Broadcast of 3GSM Coverage and Live Channels to Mobile Handsets

Paris (France) and Barcelona (Spain), February 9, 2007 - Thomson (Euronext 18453; NYSE; TMS) and abertis telecom today announced that abertis telecom, Spain's leading infrastructures and telecommunications service company, is using Thomson's mobile TV solutions for digital video broadcast to mobile handsets (DVB-H) during the 3GSM show in Barcelona from 12 to 15 February 2007. Using Thomson's Grass Valley Opal IP encapsulators, Argos H264 mobile encoders, Jade ESG servers and SmartVision Mobile TV service platform, abertis telecom will broadcast the show's official TV station, 3GSM TV amongst many others to the show's visitors on their mobile phones. The service will also include broadcast of five other live TV stations and an Electronic Programme Guide.

Grass Valley will be used for mobile encoding signals and multiplexing to combine channels into a single transport stream for broadcasting in DVB-H."
