New Add-On Remote Control System Extends Efficiencies of Cambridge Engineering Space Heaters



CE-Smart™ System latest innovation from leader in energy efficiency



ST. LOUIS, – Continuing its commitment to providing commercial and industrial installers, specifiers, operators and end-users of its ultra high efficiency direct gas-fired space heaters, Cambridge Engineering announces the addition of a new remote control station that betters the already notable energy efficiencies achieved with its S and SA-Series units. Dubbed the CE-Smart™ System, the control unit includes patented features and benefits that allow for the maximization of efficient operations during any given space’s occupied and unoccupied hours.

Cambridge has been the leader in reliable and versatile energy efficient products for heating large commercial and industrial facilities for over fifty years.  A recent Department of Energy survey found that Cambridge S-Series space heaters deliver an average of 18% higher energy savings than conventional unit heaters or traditional boilers. The addition of the CE-Smart™ System remote station can further increase energy savings by 40%-70% over its competitors and traditional systems.



The remote control system includes controls for ventilation, indoor air quality (including carbon monoxide emissions) and temperature, and includes a lockable NEMA 1 enclosure equipped with a three-position selector switch (‘Summer Ventilation’, ‘Off’, and ‘Heating’); a combination seven day programmable timer and thermostat - or, temperature setback system (TSS); an override timer; intermittent/continuous control; and indicating lights for blower operation (green), burner operation (red) and reset (amber). 



Other CE-Smart™ components include:

- A thermistor (RTS) wired to the temperature sensor terminal block. 

- A gas control system electronic discharge-local (EDL) temperature control system that utilizes Maxitrol Series 44 modulation controls.

- A tamper-proof electronic discharge-space modulator (EDSM/TP) which, like the EDL, utilizes Maxitrol Series 44 modulation controls.
