Key Technology to unveil Prism2, CentriFlow Technologies at IEFP/PackExpo

Applications: Food (vegetables, fruit, meat, snacks, nuts, candy), Plastics, Powders, Bulks, Petfood, Coffee, Tobacco

Processes: Packaging, Processing, Quality Control

Key Technology announced plans to introduce Prism2, the second generation of Prism technology developed by the former SRC
Vision, which was acquired by Key in 2000. The new system will be
demonstrated in the company's booth # 7520 at McCormick Place, Chicago during the 2002 IEFP / Pack Expo.

Stepping up from Prism's successful first generation, the Prism2 is modeled after the small-capacity, on-belt sorter Optyx(TM); overall the system is smaller than the first generation Prism yet handles the same capacity levels. Prism2 features an "Optyx-like" body, housing the same reliable Prism electronics and cameras, and the automatic belt tensioning function. Perhaps most notable is that Prism2, unlike its predecessor, has a built-in graphical user interface and control module, which can be manufactured in on the right or left side of the machine, conserving on valuable floor space.

The updated body design, like Optyx, is well-sealed for protecting electronic components in a wet production environment. The sorter includes improved door access to allow easier maintenance.

Key is pleased to offer reduced pricing on some Prism2 models, passing on the savings in design and manufacture that was released in this new model. The introduction of Prism2 marks the second consecutive sorter introduction within 12 months by the company, which continues to maintain strong research and development programs for its existing products and for new applications and technologies.

Key will also display new products and product improvements for its reputable line of processing and conveying systems. CentriFlow(TM), the company's first mass flow meter offering will be shown as part of Key's Smart Shaker(TM) technologies such as the ITS(TM) and Automatic Pneumatic Diverter. Smart Shaker technologies make up a suite of advanced conveying products designed to make Key's line of Iso-Flo Vibratory Conveyors more self-adjusting, self-diagnosing, and capable of communicating with other processing systems for more consistent
product and line flow.
