Doorbell Adapter Brings Intercom Home

SAN FRANCISCO, May 30 -- PCBC, Booth #6111 -- Sony today announced that it is expanding the capabilities of its WallStation installation friendly product line by including intercom functionality at doorbell locations.

The new WallStation doorbell adapter, model WS-ADP4, integrates up to four entrance way doorbell intercoms, electronic door releases and an external chime.

"Successful production builders are meeting the demand for cutting-edge technologies in new homes," said Neal Manowitz, director of marketing for Sony Electronics' consumer systems and applications division. "The incorporation of a product like the WallStation meets a growing consumer demand for integrated home theater, multi-room audio distribution and whole house communication systems."

WallStation also features multi-room music sharing, intercom, party mode, audio room monitor, and MP3 streaming from a PC when connected to a standard home network.

The WS-ADP4 doorbell adapter will be available in September and can be purchased through authorized Sony installation dealers. Features of the WS-ADP4 include:

-- Connection for up to four outside door locations;
-- Support for a wide range of doorbell intercoms (2 and 3 -wire configuration);
