SSR Series Power Controllers
PITTSBURGH-September 22, 2003 - Chromalox® announces the new SSR family of power controllers, an ideal low-cost power control solution for furnace/oven, heat treating, plastics, food, semiconductor, lighting, drying, and many other applications. Units in the SSR line are complete packages, and feature rugged construction, touch safe exterior, back-to-back SCR design, ambient ratings of 40ºC, and DIN rail mounting.
The SSR line offers quick and low cost installation, reduced panel space, increased heater life due to fast cycling, and easy replacement for mechanical contactors. Units are available in several series with different ratings and control modes.
The SSR series are rated for 25, 50, and 75 amps at voltages up to 600 Vac. They provide zero-fired single phase control with control signals of 4.5 - 32 Vdc, 24 - 265 Vac, or 24 - 190 Vdc.
The SSR1, SSR2 and SSR3 series feature an integral heatsink and are rated for 10, 15, 25, 35, 40, 50, 70 and 75 amps at voltages up to 600 Vac. They provide zero-fired single phase, three-phase two leg and three-phase three leg control. Control signals can be 4.5 - 32 Vdc, (24 - 265 Vac or 24 - 190 Vdc) or 10 - 40 Vdc.
The SSR1P and SSR3P Series are rated for 15, 25, 35, 40, 50 and 70 amps at voltages up to 600 Vac and feature an integral heatsink. These units offer phase-angle fired single-phase and three-phase three leg control. The control signal can be 4 - 20 mA or 0 - 20 mA.
Other features include self-lifting terminals, an LED status indicator, and a removable IP20 touch protection cover. The SSR controllers are UL recognized and CSA approved and bear the CE mark.
