Edmund Optics Expands Line of Solid State Lasers



May 31, 2003, Barrington, NJ - Edmund Optics, Inc. (EO) of Barrington, New Jersey has expanded its line of solid-state lasers to include high-performance and fiber-coupled versions.

The new High Performance Solid-State Lasers feature an extremely stable and quiet laser output in a compact, thermoelectrically cooled, self-contained package. They emit a pure TEM00 beam with diffraction limited performance and typical M2 value of 1.05. Available in popular green (532nm), red (660nm), and NIR (780nm) wavelengths and in a variety of power options, these modules are an ideal choice for demanding focusing, long-distance positioning, pointing, metrology, processing, inspection, and spectroscopy applications. The TE-cooling enables use over a broad temperature range of 10°-35°C, while guaranteeing minimal fluctuations in power and virtually eliminating high frequency noise. The power supply features a low power consumption of <40 Watts and a universal AC/DC converter for a regulated 5 VDC drive voltage at 110 VAC.

The Green High Performance Solid-State Laser is also available coupled to a singlemode optical fiber for enhanced flexibility. Featuring a stable, quiet output with diffraction limited performance, these lasers are ideal for fluorescence and confocal microscopy, ellipsometry, wafer inspection, shape, stress, and vibration measurement, Laser Doppler Anemometry (LDA), and biomedical research and development. The unique design allows for a high coupling efficiency of >40%.

All models are CDRH certified Class IIIb and feature a remote interlock key-box with an LED emission indicator. All these models, as well as our standard solid-state lasers, are available to ship immediately.
