New MUST Camera System - Latest Enhancement to MUST III Solderability Tester - Debuts at IPC Midwest 2011

Chester, Connecticut, USA - Ascentech LLC, the North American distributor for GEN3 Systems Ltd., will introduce and exhibit Gen3's MUST Camera System, the latest improvement to the MUST III Solderability Tester (wetting balance), in Booth #230 at IPC Midwest Exhibition & Conference, September 21-22, 2011, at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center, Schaumburg, Illinois.

The MUST Camera system enhances and streamlines small component alignment and inspection. Until now, operators struggled with the task of aligning small SMT components and visually verifying process steps and results. The new camera provides high magnification and a precision view of part-to-solder alignment while enabling the operator to easily monitor the solderability testing process. The heart of the unit is a USB 1/3" CMOS Color Camera, with a 3.3x megapixel macro zoom lens.

Capabilities and features include up to 744x480 pixel resolution; up to 150 FPS; color to mono switching; power supply via the USB bus; close-up viewing of micro components; retrofittable to any existing MUST system; and easy setup.

The new MUST Camera system is equipped with a powerful yet user-friendly software package and toolkit that empowers the user to capture live images into various formats etc. bmp, jpeg, raw & tiff; capture a timed sequence of images at set intervals; zoom from 10% to 200% and Rotate images; enable AVI recording for a defined period, and more.

The MUST III System is a wetting balance testing system capable of testing to all relevant solder standards including IPC, MIL-STD, IPC/EIA/JEDEC, etc. The MUST System 3 measures the solderability of a printed circuit board and/or component's metallic terminations by documenting the wetting curve of the unit under test. The MUST System 3 is appropriate for testing all devices including multi-leaded components as well as SMT and BGA devices.

Ascentech, LLC, the North American Distributor for GEN3 Systems, also supplies the industry with other product reliability test equipment including the MUST III -Solderability test systems (wetting balance), Auto-SIR -Surface Insulation Resistance test, and the SPA-1000-Solder Paste Analyzer.
