VeruTEK Technologies Announces New Green VeruSOLVE-HP and VeruSOLVE-SP Gels
A Slow Release S-ISCO Remedy for Sediments, Surfaces, Clays and Groundwater
Bloomfield, CT - VeruTEK® Technologies Inc. announced today the availability of VeruSOLVE-HP and VeruSOLVE-SP gels for the remediation of contaminants in soils, sediments, and groundwater contamination including fuel oil, coal tar, creosote, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, and other organic contaminants. The formulation of slow-release gels is a versatile remediation product that can be used for most non-aqueous phase removal. For example, S-ISCO® gels can be used for:
o long-term remediation of PCBs and coal tar in sediments and on brick or concrete surfaces
o control of soil contaminant vapors
o control of groundwater contaminant plumes
The new gels are reformulations of VeruSOLVE-HP and VeruSOLVE-SP, which are green fusion products formulated by VeruTEK® for its patent-pending S-ISCO® process, where plant surfactants and oxidants are safely mixed with other proprietary biodegradable ingredients. VeruSOLVE-HP is a stabilized blend of plant extracts that catalyze degradation of target contaminants, and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2); a strong oxidant that degrades to water. VeruSOLVE-SP is a stabilized blend of plant extracts that catalyze degradation of target contaminants, and sodium persulfate, a strong oxidant that degrades to water and sulfate. Both VeruSOLVE-HP and VeruSOLVE-SP safely destroy organic contamination in place such as beneath buildings and structures.
S-ISCO® gels can be formulated for slow release over days, weeks, or months depending on the application.
The carbon footprint of S-ISCO® remediation with VeruSOLVE-HP is less than 10 percent than that of traditional remedies such as excavation/landfilling. S-ISCO® is also a much less expensive process overall and is a far more complete remedy.
VeruSOLVE-HP GEL is shipped ready-to-inject into the subsurface with progressive cavity pumps through direct push geoprobe, permanent injection wells, or monitoring wells.
Previous applications of VeruSOLVE have demonstrated successful destruction of fuel oil and gasoline constituents to achieve closure of sites in a short duration (less than two weeks). Additionally, injections have been performed in close proximity to homes and high traffic areas safely and without disruption to occupancy. VeruSOLVE-HP can be used for source removal, enhanced product recovery and as an aerobic biostimulant (for plume control).
