NUREMBERG, GERMANY - February 17, 2004 - Today at Embedded World, RadiSys Corp. (Nasdaq: RSYS) announced availability of Microware OS-9 version 4.3 for the Intel® XScale(TM) micro architecture. Microware OS-9 for XScale is a complete software solution designed for OEMs who are developing embedded and real-time applications for XScale-based hardware. RadiSys' Microware OS-9 for XScale is ideal for use in a variety of embedded applications including industrial control and factory automation, interactive point of sale kiosks and test and measurement, among others.
Pressured to develop better products faster, OEMs are continually on the lookout for tools and technologies that can help reduce development costs and shorten time to market. RadiSys has integrated and validated a complete set of tools in the Microware OS-9 for XScale product, which allows developers to hit the ground running. The OS-9 real-time operating system (RTOS) offers a secure, runtime environment that prevents application errors from corrupting the system. In this environment, OEMs can more easily integrate their own software components with those from third parties, without needing to develop additional software debugging features.
