Informatica Launches Data Migration Suite
Enables rapid delivery of trusted data to meet business imperatives
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb. 19 / / -- Informatica Corporation (NASDAQ:INFA), the leading independent provider of data integration software, today announced the Informatica Data Migration Suite to help corporations manage the increasingly complex process of IT change resulting from mergers and acquisitions, consolidation and outsourcing of critical services and functions.
According to an October 2007 study by Bloor Research, the budget for data migration projects undertaken by Global 2000 companies will rise 10 percent annually exceeding $8 billion by 2012, as data migration continues to be pivotal to new application implementations, application consolidations and upgrades, and mergers and acquisitions. However, 84 percent of the projects studied came in late or over-budget, resulting in cost overruns averaging 30 percent.
