Rockwell Automation Launches FactoryTalk Pharma Suite Software Bringing Integrated Weigh Dispense to the Life Sciences Industry
Pre-certified application features weigh-and-dispense workflows to help pharmaceutical manufacturers lower risk, reduce time to market and achieve operational excellence
MILWAUKEE, Jan. 26, 2009 - Rockwell Automation today introduced a new suite of software applications to help pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers integrate their production processes with the rest of the manufacturing enterprise. FactoryTalk Pharma Suite is the first in a series of industry-specific software applications based on the FactoryTalk Integrated Production and Performance Suite.
The FactoryTalk platform leverages a service-oriented architecture (SOA) for cost-effective, flexible, plant-wide integration. Its object-oriented design makes it easier and faster to build and modify applications, and then systematically deploy them across multiple sites in a consistent form - ultimately helping to establish best practices for manufacturing operations and regulatory requirements in discrete, hybrid and process industries.
FactoryTalk Pharma Suite covers processes in research and development, clinical manufacturing and commercial manufacturing. It helps companies lower manufacturing risk and reduce cost while being compliant with cGMP and FDA regulations like 21 CFR Part 11. The software suite also includes comprehensive documentation and templates to reduce qualification and validation at the customer site.
FactoryTalk Pharma Suite is modular and configurable. It is a cost-effective approach to meeting the manufacturer-specific requirements. It can be configured as a stand-alone system, or tightly integrated with business systems like enterprise resource planning (ERP) or Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Pre-defined interface scenarios simplify integration with these systems.
The first version of FactoryTalk Pharma Suite is comprised of the production management and dispense applications, which help pharmaceutical and biotechnology manufacturers realize competitive advantage by enabling on-demand access to key manufacturing information and production processes optimization. Rockwell Automation also plans to release additional industry-specific applications for medical device, food, beverage and automotive manufacturers, as well as key production execution and performance management features for faster time-to-value and mobilization across discrete, hybrid and process industries.
