Pass & Seymour/Legrand® Now Offers SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0 Specifiers Software

SYRACUSE, NY, January 30, 2003 - Pass & Seymour/Legrand, a leading manufacturer of electrical and network wiring devices, offers SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0, a tool that simplifies specifying electrical devices for consulting engineers and design-build contractors.

"SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0 continues to offer enhancements that exceed the requirements of today's specification and design-build community," said Ron Conroy, commercial devices product manager.

Enhancements to Version 3.0 include products from the company's Product Guide 300 catalog and new network wiring technical information and drawings.

SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0 now offers Section 16740 Network Wiring specification and an updated Section 16140 Wiring Devices specification that includes the most comprehensive and accurate specification guidelines, including the 2003 new UL GFCI requirements, While-In-Use weatherproof covers information and NEMA Turnlok® configurations, including a NEMA locking device selection chart.

"Having access to these construction specification sections will provide engineers and designers with immediate reference to wiring device and network wiring product information they need to efficiently compile a job specification document in a quick and easy process," said Nancy Santana-Pedersen, data communications product manager.

For design-build contractors, the competitive cross-reference and technical reference sections have been referred to as the heart of SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0. The comprehensive cross reference function gives the contractor the ability to not only choose the right Pass & Seymour/Legrand product for the application by simply entering its product number, but also gives them access to Pass & Seymour/Legrand products by entering a competitor's part number. The technical reference section allows for instant availability to additional product details and supporting data they may need. It is also the quickest and easiest way for project submittal information to be completed, ensuring the correct product is selected for every application on the specification.

Furthermore, what really separates SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0 from other CD-ROM catalog products currently on the market is the ability to update SpecPartner(TM) via the Pass & Seymour/Legrand Web site. The end-user is a click away from the latest up-to-date information on the entire Pass & Seymour/Legrand product line. Updates and revisions are communicated via email, linking the registered SpecPartner(TM) users to the Web site to download the latest information.

Conroy notes that previous SpecPartner(TM) versions must be uninstalled and users must follow the installation instructions that come with the SpecPartner(TM) Version 3.0 CD-ROM.
