Radware Unveils Advanced Behavioral Security Strategy for Enterprises and Carriers

Availability of its Next-Generation DefensePro IPS Safeguards Networks and Applications without Human Intervention

MAHWAH, N.J., Jan. 30 /- Radware (NASDAQ:RDWR), the leading provider of intelligent integrated solutions for ensuring the fast, reliable and secure delivery of networked and Web-enabled applications over IP, today announced customer availability of DefensePro version 3.10, the latest version of the company's flagship Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) that eliminates the full range of attacks at the initial point of entry - the application layer - with absolutely no need for human intervention, allowing the network to automatically respond to attacks targeted at revenue-generating Web based applications.

DefensePro version 3.10 extends the behavioral security technology first introduced after Radware's acquisition of V Secure Technologies in November 2005. The new worm propagation prevention feature extends DefensePro's adaptive, behavioral technology already in use against zero day Dos/DDoS flood attacks. Combining industry-leading technology with powerful threat protection, DefensePro 3.10's maintains maximum productivity for customers by ensuring that, even if a worm or other threat penetrates the corporate network, individual users can continue working while DefensePro eliminates the threat from their computers.

DefensePro 3.10 adapts itself to the network on which it's installed, instead of relying on the network manager to customize according to the network's unique characteristics. DefensePro 3.10 zero day protection features require no manual tuning, configuring or updating of any kind, delivering unparalleled security while steadily reducing the number of personnel needed to protect against worms, malware, DoS, DDoS, SYN flood attacks, etc.

This latest version also advances Radware's commitment to extend the benefits of behavioral security to its global carrier customers. DefensePro 3.10 supports IPv6 traffic scanning and protection, offering complete protection against a full range of attacks carried both over IPv4 and IPv6 traffic - from viruses and worms to DoS/DDoS attacks, etc. - that routinely threaten carriers' networks and the millions of customers that use them. IPv6 is the next generation Internet Protocol that industry analysts predict will soon be adopted by carriers across the world.

With DefensePro 3.10 Radware provides carriers with multi-layer protection for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services and secures the inherent vulnerabilities of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) from issues such as buffer overflow, protocol misuse and SQL injection attacks. DefensePro also secures carriers' VoIP infrastructure against all types of DoS/DDoS flood attacks which can shut down service completely or result in extremely poor voice service quality.

DefensePro 3.10 is currently in use by several large enterprises, universities and government agencies, all of whom have expressed a need for more advanced behavioral security capabilities to buttress the signature-based protection that they have long used to secure their networks and critical applications.

"Radware first introduced adaptive behavioral protection to its DefensePro line because we knew the market need for Intrusion Prevention Systems that 'think' the way humans do was going to grow even more intense," said Avi Chesla, vice president, security, Radware. "Expanding our behavioral protection to the application layer and adding in functionality that supports IPv6, SIP and mobile worm protection, ensures all of our enterprise and carrier customers can block the full range of application-layer attacks."

"Today's enterprise and carrier customers want first and foremost to know their IPS is identifying and eliminating threats that can disrupt business operations. Vendors developing security appliances that combine signature- based and behavior-based protection will have an advantage over signature-only type IPS systems," said Charles Kolodgy, research director at IDC. "Moreover, as enterprises of all sizes continue to deploy new Internet technology such as VoIP networking, they should ensure that their security solutions are designed to safeguard these new technologies."
