Reviews All BOM Components so New Orders Can Be Built Within Timeframes Without Disturbing Other Orders

COSTA MESA, CALIF. - December 4, 2002 - nMetric today announced that 4C's Multi-Line and Multi-Level Capable to Build abilities let mid-sized manufacturers include multiple line items to be scheduled for a certain completion date. They can also explode the bill of materials for an end product to create schedules for all sub-assembly items that must also be built in order to produce that top-level item by the requested date. As a result, mid-sized manufacturers can quickly determine if a new sales order request can meet a customer request date and then schedule the shop floor to do so.

With 4C, a number of line items can be entered and evaluated to determine which line item can be built. This simulates the process of entering an order, defined as a set of shippable items, with a request date for the entire set. 4C looks at the set of items, some of which may or may not require a lower level of items to be built before the top level can be completed, and provides a return date for each line item. It then displays the latest of these dates as the commitment date to be given to the customer for obtaining a complete shipment.
