Software provides VoIP conformance testing.

Press Release Summary:

MAPS Message Automation and Protocol Simulation for SIP tests SIP proxy servers, Redirect servers, Registrars, and user agents such as SIP phones. Test cases include general messaging and call flow scenarios for multimedia call session setup and control over IP networks. Capable of testing Media Gateways and Media Gateway Controllers, MAPS-Megaco Tester includes functions to generate MEGACO messages, edit messages, simulate call flows, and control scenarios.

GL Announces Enhancements to VoIP Test Tool for Conformance Testing

Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA - April 21, 2008 - GL Communications Inc., announced today enhancements to its VoIP Conformance Test Tool, called Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS)[http://www.gl.com/maps.html]- a software tool designed for SIP and Megaco protocol conformance testing. Speaking to the press persons, Mr. Karthik Ramalingam, senior manager of product development at GL Communications Inc. said, "Message Automation and Protocol simulation (MAPS) supports SIP and Megaco protocol conformance testing. The SIP part of the application helps in testing of SIP Gateways, proxy servers, Redirect servers, Registrars and user agents such as SIP phones. The Megaco part of the application is capable of testing Media Gateways (MG) and Media Gateway Controllers MGC)".

Mr. Ramalingam, further added, "MAPS can be used to simulate any interface of the VoIP network. Single MAPS can act as more than one SIP entity at a time and can generate any SIP message on wire in VoIP network and hence most of testing can be automated and also equipments needed to test are reduced".

Brief description of the application is provided below:

Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS) - SIP - SIP is designed to test SIP proxy servers, Redirect servers, Registrars and user agents such as SIP phones. Test cases include general messaging and call flow scenarios for multimedia call session setup and control over IP networks. Logging and pass/fail results are also reported.
The MAPS - SIP Conformance Suite is designed with 300+ test cases, as per SIP specification of ETSI TS 102 027-2 document. Test cases include general messaging and call flow scenarios for multimedia call session setup and control over IP networks. Logging and pass/fail results are also reported.

The application gives the users the unlimited ability to edit SIP messages and control scenarios (message sequences). "Message sequences" are generated through scripts. "Messages" are created using message templates. The application is available as:
o MAPS for SIP (Item # PKS120 )
o MAPS - SIP Conformance Suite (Item #PKS121)

For comprehensive information on the application, please visit www.gl.com/mapssip.html webpage.

The Message Automation & Protocol Simulation (MAPS) - Megaco Tester is designed for MEGACO testing that provides MEGACO test library capable of testing Media Gateways (MG) and Media Gateway Controllers (MGC). The test library includes test functions to generate MEGACO messages, edit messages, simulates a variety of call flows, and control scenarios. "Message sequences" are generated through scripts. "Messages" are created using message templates.

The MAPS - MEGACO Conformance Suite tool is designed with 300+ test cases, as per specification of ETSI TS 102 374-2 document. The test suite includes in-built scripts to process MEGACO valid and in-valid behaviors.

The application is available as:
o MAPS for MEGACO (Item # PKS122)
o MAPS - MEGACO Conformance Suite (Item # PKS123)

Founded in 1986, GL Communications Inc. is a leading supplier of test, monitoring, and analysis equipment for TDM, Wireless, and VoIP networks. Unlike conventional test equipment, GL's test platforms provide visualization, capture, storage, and convenient features like portability, remotability, and scripting.

GL's TDM Analysis & Emulation line of products includes T1, E1, T3, OC-3, STM-1, analog four-wire, and analog two-wire interface cards and solutions. Capabilities include voiceband traffic analysis and emulation across all traffic types (voice, digits, tones, fax, modem), all protocols (HDLC, ISDN, SS7, CAS, GSM, GPRS, CDMA), and with capacities up to thousands of channels.

GL's VoIP products generate / analyze thousands of calls simultaneously with traffic types such as voice files, digits, tones, noise, and fax using G.711, G.729, AMR, EVRC, and GSM codecs. Additional features include visual analysis, real-time listening, recording, and voice quality assessment using ITU algorithms PAMS, PSQM, and PESQ.

GL's Wireless and Voice Quality testing products perform protocol analysis and voice quality assessment on GSM, CDMA, UMTS, and CDMA 2000 networks. Connections can be made to any wireless phone with automated call control, GPS, mapping software, and real-time signal measurements.

GL's Echo Canceller testing solutions provide the broadest range of simulation and analysis, including compliance testing per G.168 and G.160.

GL's Network Surveillance and Monitoring products include Probes for TDM, VoIP, ATM, and Wireless networks. An open standards based approach provides a scalable, feature rich, real-time access to network intelligence.
