ATA Engineering Announces Release of Attune, a Next Generation Test-Analysis Correlation Toolkit

Attune(TM) 1.0 Allows Dramatic Time-Savings in the Generation of Test-Verified Analysis Models Through a Powerful, Easy-to-Use, GUI-Driven Correlation and Model Updating Utility

SAN DIEGO, Jan. 31 -- ATA Engineering, Inc., a leading provider of test-driven and analysis-driven mechanical engineering design solutions, announced today that Attune 1.0 has begun shipping to customers. Attune is a standalone, highly automated test-analysis correlation and model updating software tool which combines more than 25 years of experience in this field into a user-friendly, flexible, MATLAB(R)-based toolkit. By automating the correlation process and providing a suite of leading-edge optimization tools, Attune provides the user with a powerful, efficient method of generating accurate test-verified finite element models.

Attune represents a leap forward in the area of automated correlation and model updating. The software provides a suite of powerful, easy-to-use tools for rapidly comparing test and analysis models and automatically optimizing analysis models to correlate closely with test data. Users can correlate analysis models and test data based on mode shapes, modal frequencies, modal assurance criteria (MAC), or various combinations of these.

Attune provides the most complete set of state-of-the-art optimization routines available for model updating, including Monte Carlo, unconstrained quadratic minimization, and gradient-based and genetic algorithms. In addition, multiple configurations may be optimized simultaneously to improve accuracy and further reduce correlation time. Attune is directly compatible with NX Nastran and MSC.Nastran(R), ABAQUS(R), I-deas(R) NX, and MTS(R) I-DEAS Pro(TM) Test software, and universal data sets. More information about Attune can be found at www.ata-attune.com.

"We are very pleased to announce the release of Attune," said Kyle Indermuehle, Manager of Software Products at ATA. "This tool leverages ATA's long history in the area of test-analysis correlation and model updating to provide customers with a unique, high-productivity computer-aided engineering toolkit. In beta testing, a key aerospace customer used Attune to carry out hundreds of real-time correlation iterations during modal testing of a launch vehicle payload, whereas prior to this they were limited to less than a dozen manual correlations a week. This type of productivity increase can greatly reduce development costs and schedule, improve product design, and directly impact the bottom line for our customers."
