Original Press Release:

Enhanced Functionality, New Name Mark the Release of EMS Workplace 5.0(TM) Office Hoteling Software

Some of country's largest corporations drive development of shared workspace management system and others in product line

DENVER - Dean Evans & Associates (www.dea.com) today announced the release of EMS Workplace Version 5.0 (www.dea.com/workplace/workplace.aspx). Formerly called "EMS Hoteling," the product is used to schedule not only shared workspaces for the practice referred to as "hoteling" or "hot-desking," but also the rooms and resources (audio/visual equipment, catering, etc.) managed by an organization's meeting services staff. New versions of the company's EMS Enterprise, EMS Professional and EMS Lite facility scheduling and resource management products are now available as well.

Enhancements in EMS Workplace Version 5.0 include:

o Interactive floor plan capability for searching for available space or finding colleagues' work sites

o Redesigned EMS Kiosk software with enhanced hoteling functionality and new tools for meeting and event space booking

o More comprehensive Check-In Status utility, which now includes No Show resolution tools

o Additional visitor management capability

o Multi-point access to hoteling data, including historical check-in information

o New features in all scheduling tools (Reservation Wizard, Navigator, Reservation Book)

o Powerful web process templates for customizing the web-based room request process

In all, more than 300 development items were completed for the new release. Some of the country's most experienced users of facility scheduling and office hoteling software - a Big Four accounting firm, four of the largest U.S. banks, leading law firms and other major corporations - provided input that was included in the product development plan.

"Office hoteling is an important feature of the software, but we realized that using that name to refer to the system implied that it had a somewhat narrow focus," says Kevin Raasch, executive vice president of Dean Evans & Associates. "EMS Workplace is also used to manage meeting rooms, special event spaces, resources and services, reservation-related accounting and much more. We think the new name speaks to its broad role in helping organizations optimize the use of their space and other assets."
