Navio Systems, Inc. Unveils Next Generation 'Rights-Based' Commerce Platform for Web and Mobile Content

AV Commerce 2.0 Enables Atom Entertainment and Walt Disney Internet Group to Sell Digital Entertainment Products Direct-to-Consumers, Increasing Distribution and Flexibility

CUPERTINO, Calif., May 22 /-- Navio Systems, Inc. (navio.com), the leading provider of rights-based commerce solutions, today announced the general availability of AV Commerce 2.0, the latest release of its award-winning platform for content distribution. Because Navio's breakthrough "Rights over IP" (RoIP) technology uniquely enables distributed transactions and device independence, content owners can publish digital content once, and distribute it direct-to-consumers wherever they are -- online at digital music stores and fan sites, on-the-go through mobile devices, over authorized peer-to-peer networks, or at retail point-of-sale. AV Commerce 2.0 enhancements include a new user interface, expanded storefront types, new content management services, new distribution options such as enhanced PIN support and mobile campaign support and management, and enhanced reporting.

"Navio's AV Commerce service now supports some of the largest music and entertainment companies in the world," said Stefan Roever, CEO and founder of Navio. "We enable brands like Atom Entertainment, FOX Sports Mobile, and Walt Disney Internet Group, to manage the pricing, bundling, promotion, and usage of their content, and build direct trusted relationships with consumers of their products. With the rights-based model, consumers gain valuable rights to their song, video, game, or other content, and can use their digital assets in more ways than current commerce models allow."

"We selected Navio to power our upcoming mobile initiative because we want to bring quality entertainment experiences to our audience of 25 million," said Dave Williams, CMO of Atom Entertainment, Inc. "With this technology, the Atom Entertainment(TM) audience can enjoy their games, videos and animation in a variety of mobile environments."

Navio Solutions
Navio's hosted services include a full set of solutions for the distribution of web and mobile content, from commerce storefronts, to content management services, marketing campaigns, customer loyalty programs, consumer "digital locker" services, rights management, custom payment systems, and content delivery services, for the following markets:

o Music companies, including major record labels and music resellers, who can now package, sell, and securely distribute albums, unreleased movie tracks, videos, and more, merchandising their content in flexible ways -- by the ring tone, by the track, by the album, or by the artist bundle.

o Entertainment companies, who can distribute, track, and manage rich media content from movie titles, to videos, and mobile content and games. Unique, custom bundles can now be created such as a multimedia "Fan Pack" for an upcoming film release, including a ringtone, PC game, movie soundtrack, and exclusive behind-the-scenes video clips, all delivered from different sources.

o Community aggregators such as mobile providers and social networking sites, who can provide a rich consumer experience and new revenue opportunities through content distribution services, marketing campaigns, and loyalty programs, enabling users to easily discover, buy and access digital content.

AV Commerce 2.0 provides the following new features:

o "Super-bundle" capability enables content owners to bundle diverse web and mobile content (ring tones, music, videos, games, and even physical goods) together into an offer that can be purchased in a single transaction.

o High-volume content management supports content portfolios with millions of assets, streamlining the complexities associated with formats, devices, and networks.

o Expanded storefront types now include themed storefronts (based around artists, movies, games, etc.), single page content redemption sites, and massive, multi-format content portals, with flexible categories (product type, artist type, genre, etc.) and high-speed search capabilities.

o User interface enhancements to the Flash-based "AV Viewer" built into each digital store. Featuring a shopping cart, secure wallet and digital locker for rights and receipts, the Viewer now includes an enhanced interface for displaying the rights users are purchasing. Other enhancements also include flexible purchasing, redemption, and user registration options.

o Enhanced reporting options which can be customized by clients.

o Carrier billing integration, so mobile users can purchase "on-the-go".

o PIN-based redemption campaigns for digital promotions which can mix physical and digital content (a free ringtone, an unreleased track from a popular artist, and a DVD), and can be fulfilled at retail point-of-sale via unique PIN numbers.

o Mobile marketing services which can reach consumers "in-venue" -- at a concert, sporting event, or on the go, through text-in campaigns, sweepstakes or trivia games.

o TRY/BUY campaigns delivered through email, over authorized peer-to-peer (P2P) networks, or from a website, so consumers can purchase in context on the web, enjoy a preview prior to purchase, and transact immediately while the impulse is high.

Rights over IP (RoIP)
Navio's breakthrough "Rights over IP" technology separates content "rights" from files. Rights are far easier to manage than physical files, and can be created, acquired, stored, traded, transferred, and redeemed. This approach enables device independence for web or mobile, more merchandising flexibility through mixed web and mobile bundles, and distributed transactions, enabling ecommerce to become decentralized, so that every customer interaction is an opportunity for a transaction.
