PALO ALTO, Calif., April 29 /-- Nexenta Systems, Inc., developer of NexentaStor(TM), the leading enterprise class storage management software taking an open source approach to market, is pleased to announce the commercial release of NexentaStor Enterprise v. 1.0.
Current customers of NexentaStor include the University of Michigan School of Medicine, Motek Entertainment (Netherlands), Ozmo Devices, Stanford University and many other enterprises and Universities worldwide.
NexentaStor Enterprise Edition is superior to alternatives in at least five ways:
-- Storage without limits: based upon ZFS, a file system with 128 bit addressing and many other capabilities, NexentaStor offers limitless file system sizes and limitless numbers of incremental backups, known as snapshots.
-- Inherent virtualization: keeping up with rapidly changing storage demands with legacy storage solutions is challenging. Storage administrators waste significant time and money adjusting volumes and adding capacity. NexentaStor is built from the ground up on storage virtualization, which makes all storage capacity available to all users and applications. In addition, NexentaStor uses virtualization to improve performance as scale increases because NexentaStor pools I/O operations as well as the underlying physical storage.
