IMR Announces New Mercury Solution for High Volume Computer Output

Manages the delivery, presentment and archive of large intelligent print stream files

Denver, CO - (October 1, 2003) - Information Management Research (IMR) Inc., a leader in document management solutions, today announced the immediate USA release of the Mercury(TM) suite of high volume computer output management products. This new technology solution is designed to manage the delivery, presentment and archive of large intelligent print stream files that originate from mainframes and produce statements and reports.

Mercury is the industry's first solution to combine the management and distribution of both statement-based print streams and report-based Computer Output to Laser Disk (COLD), within a single offering. It is especially ideal for any organization that utilizes Adobe® PDF for high volume output. Mercury offers a common solution to manage PDF-based statements and text-based reports. Companies that have requirements to distribute computer output data both inside and outside their organizations and/or have a high value per transaction model, such as those in the financial industries offering mutual funds or insurance products, will see immediate results from this solution. For increased customer flexibility, Mercury can be purchased as a complete in-house software solution, an outsourced solution, or a combination of software and outsourced services.

"With over 2,500 customers using our focused COLD solutions and thousands more using our document management products, we are already a leader in report distribution and archiving for the small to medium volume business market," stated Steven Grandchamp, IMR President and CEO. "The addition of Mercury has now expanded our technology offering, added in-house expertise for a wider marketplace and enabled us to create strategic partnerships to bring our legendary 'customer delight' and affordability to the large enterprise. First Data Corporation's recent selection of the Mercury suite for their statement output and archiving proves that IMR can now solve any size problem."

Mercury is completely modular so customers can choose just what they need. The suite is comprised of Input, System Management and Output components. The Input options include large PDF files that have been transformed from AFP or Metacode, or line data in ASCII text format. IMR is also offering services to transform AFP or Metacode files to PDF. The System Management module includes the administrative tools necessary to manage complex and high volume jobs.

Mercury's Output options are very flexible. Output options include distribution on CD/DVD, delivery via the Web, or the automatic creation of a repository on a Windows network. Mercury uses IMR's proven repository technology for archiving and distribution of data. Thus it inherits IMR's output and usability strengths, such as:
o A universal document viewer for PDF, line data, TIFF and many other document types.
o Completely self-contained CDs and DVDs.
o Full text search completely integrated with key word search.
o Security and encryption to protect data.
