Enhanced SenSage Enterprise Event Management Platform Offers Unprecedented Speed and Precision for Log Auditing, Analysis and Security Management

Enhancements in Usability, Windows Collection and Reporting, and Extension to Industry-Best Performance in Analyzing Event Data

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 6 // -- SenSage, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise event management solutions, today announced the availability of SenSage 3.6, a scalable platform for log management, compliance auditing and security information management applications. Over 200 customers and partners have deployed SenSage solutions to reduce the risks associated with insider threats, system downtime and failed audits by providing faster, more granular analysis of privileged user behavior and analyzing anomalies across network, system and application activity.

"Implementing best security practices is a business requisite for our patients, and SenSage has helped us optimize our log management and security monitoring capacity," said Irwin Weinberg, information security officer, University of Kansas Hospital. "We chose SenSage because it not only integrates with our Siemens health system and network infrastructure, but it further allows us to centralize and automate our auditing and compliance procedures at lower operational costs."

SenSage 3.6 directly addresses the needs of companies seeking Security Information Management (SIM) and Log Management (LM) solutions that deliver early warning against internal security threats and provide robust auditing and compliance capabilities. The platform lets customers capture, store and query billions of events in a matter of minutes instead of days -- a performance level that competitors can't match. The newest release blends this high degree of performance with new administrative and management capabilities, including tools that reduce installation time by as much as 50 percent, and a wider range of analytics and reporting capabilities to meet the compliance and regulatory requirements for SOX, HIPAA, FFIEC/GLBA, PCI and FISMA.

"Event data management is a best security practice and a necessity for compliance. Why? As an incident occurs, an audit is conducted or a threat is identified, organizations need all relevant information to be readily accessible and usable," said Jon Oltsik, senior security analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group. "More advanced event data management solutions, such as SenSage, offer greater capacity for organizations to capture more with less, gain faster results and achieve greater security decision support."

The SenSage 3.6 core features deliver strong performance, event coverage and data manageability. Highlights include:

Performance Updates
oFaster loading of initial data -- with improvements of as much as 90 to
100 percent -- allows customers to more quickly complete investigations.
oAn enhanced query engine speeds the process of finding the "needle in the
haystack" when customers are doing a large number of queries over large
volumes of data. Queries of this nature are often made during user
activity investigations or in response to regulatory requests, such as
those relating to Call Detail Record searches under the European Union
Data Retention Directive.

Expanded Event Coverage
oSenSage delivers the industry's broadest set of supported event source
types, with more than 200 now supported. New additions include CA eTrust,
Intec Telecom Systems, Kronos, SAP, Siemens Healthcare and SiteMinder.
oSenSage 3.6 offers expanded monitoring of Windows systems, using both
agent-based and agent-less collection types. A new Windows Analytics
Package provides a set of analytics reports that give customers deeper
insights into the daily operations of their Windows domain controllers,
member servers and end points.

Expanded Deployment Options
oSenSage ESA systems are available in options that range from the ESA-100
for departmental solutions starting at $70,000, up to the ESA-2000 for
enterprise deployments at Fortune 100 organizations.
oIn response to customer needs to store more data for longer periods of
time, SenSage now supports immediate access to more data archives,
including Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Networks (SAN) and
near-line storage devices. This low-cost storage option enables customers
to store upwards of five to seven years of data online while keeping that
data completely accessible and online. All of this information is managed
and accessed entirely within the SenSage user interface, without the need
for any data backup or restoral procedures.

Added support for Red Hat Linux 64-bit allows customers to take advantage of their 64-bit hardware and select Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.3 as the operating system for use with SenSage 3.6, which can lead to a 50 percent improvement in speed in both load and query operations on the system. This also allows customers to take better advantage of their hardware investments related to the newer 64-bit platforms.

"SenSage 3.6 sets the bar for Windows collection and reporting, and offers incredible flexibility to create and manage security and compliance reports," said Jim Hansen, senior technical product manager at SenSage. "While we continue to set the bar for innovation in scale and speed, SenSage is now delivering huge improvements in usability to give our customers and partners the tools they need to deliver immediate results to their most pressing problems."

The new release of SenSage includes full internationalization support, offering localized focus for the Japanese language. This enables SenSage to store Japanese double-byte characters and extends the system to provide full query capabilities on international character sets.

Pricing and Availability
SenSage 3.6 is available now, with pricing beginning at $70,000.
