GWAVA Announces Disaster Recovery for Novell GroupWise

MONTREAL, Feb. 27 /-- GWAVA, Novell's largest GroupWise partner, announced today the launch of Reload v2, Disaster Recovery for Novell GroupWise.

Reload is the first disaster recovery solution focused exclusively on GroupWise. Reload allows email administrators the ability to recover data immediately from backup and to implement push button disaster recovery in times of crisis.

"As a law firm, our focus is ensuring that our data is never lost," says Dale Qualls, Director of Information Technology with Pattishall, McAuliffe, Newbury, Hilliard and Geraldson LLP, "Reload has had an immediate impact in our firm. The ability to instantly recover lost data is impressive."

GroupWise is particularly popular with State and Local Governments that require their email to be functioning even when other services are not available. Organizations such as California Highway Patrol, New York Fire Department, and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police use GroupWise because of its reputation for uptime and security from cyber attacks.

"Disaster preparation and recovery are no longer luxuries for organizations," says Richard Bliss, Chief Marketing Officer for GWAVA. "Of companies that had a major loss of computerized records, 43% never reopen, 51% close within 2 years, and only 6% will survive long term (Cummings, Haag and McCubbrey 2005). You must have a plan in place that functions under the stress of time and in the face of chaos."

Reload runs on the SUSE Linux platform and backs up GroupWise running on Netware, Windows, or Linux. Reload operates with a single backup solution for immediate recovery within minutes and also works with offsite disaster recovery plans that allow easy management of data in multiple locations. The moment a system goes down, Reload is able to take over and keep messages flowing allowing end-users to continue operating with a minimum of disruption.

Reload is designed by Tay Kratzer.
