Software provides 3D designs of piping layouts.

Press Release Summary:

Vic 3D Piping Software is designed for AutoCAD drawings that include carbon steel, copper, ductile iron, HDPE, and stainless steel piping materials. Utilities toolbar enables AutoCAD users to draw 3D pipe within existing Victaulic modules such as AWWA, copper tubing, HDPE, IPS, and Pressfit® system. Working in conjunction with Vic Blocks 3D, software offers full range of pipe sizes; includes BOM routine that lists pipe cut lengths; and runs on AutoCAD 2004 and later versions.

Original Press Release:

New Victaulic 3D Piping Software Streamlines AutoCAD Layout Design and Bill of Materials Estimation

EASTON, Pa. (September 2, 2005) - Victaulic, the original innovator of grooved mechanical pipe joining, today released its new Vic 3D Piping Software designed for AutoCAD drawings that include Victaulic carbon steel, copper, ductile iron, HDPE, and stainless steel piping materials. Also, released are upgrades to the Vic Blocks 2D, Vic Blocks 3D and Vic ISO software programs. The Vic 3D Piping software provides engineering firms with accurate, well-depicted, three-dimensional designs of piping layouts and eliminates the time-consuming hassle of estimating the bill of materials. The comprehensive functionality of the Vic 3D Piping Software includes the new Victaulic Utilities toolbar that enables AutoCAD users to draw three-dimensional pipe within existing Victaulic modules such as AWWA, copper tubing, HDPE, IPS and the Victaulic Pressfit® system. The software works in conjunction with the Vic Blocks 3D software for drawing comprehensive piping system layouts; offers a full range of pipe sizes in both imperial and metric measurements; includes a bill of material routine that lists pipe cut lengths; and runs on AutoCAD 2004 and later versions. Vic 3D Piping Software requires Vic Blocks 3D to operate. Vic 3D Piping Software allow users to select the module, size, description, service and end-condition options from the Victaulic Pipe Data Dialog toolbar, choose the points of placement and use the Utility to draw the three-dimensional pipe. In addition, the utilities toolbar gives users the ability to: - Edit the pipe by changing the size, length and other items that define a piece of pipe. - "Break" and "Mend" the pipe design so that a section of pipe can be removed without influencing the actual cut length shown in the bill of material. This is essential to showing detail that would otherwise be blocked from view by a piece of pipe. Mending returns the broken pipe to its original state. - Run a customizable piping component report routine ("Run BOM") that lists pipe lengths and reports all Vic Blocks 3D components. The Vic 3D Piping Software is available on CD-Rom or for download at www.victaulic.com. The following Victaulic software upgrades have also been released: - The Vic Blocks 3D 2.0 Software, which interfaces with the new Vic 3D Piping Software, is a dimensionally accurate, three-dimensional block library that was developed to assist with piping system layouts and determining pipe cut lengths for drawing a Bill of Materials. Vic Blocks 3D version 2.0 now uses DesignCenter, a feature of AutoCAD that aids in the placement of Victaulic products. Also, included in v.2.0 are the product attribute files for the Advanced Grooved System, a complete grooved pipe joining system for 14" - 24" pipe. The free software and upgrade are available on CD-Rom or for download at www.victaulic.com. - The Vic Blocks 2D version 4.0, which allows users to create accurate two-dimensional Victaulic piping models, has been upgraded to include the functionality of Design Center. DesignCenter, a feature of AutoCAD that aids in the placement of Victaulic products. Also, included in v.2.0 are the product attribute files for the Advanced Grooved System, a complete grooved pipe joining system for 14" - 24" pipe. The free software and upgrade are available on CD-Rom or for download at www.victaulic.com. - Vic ISO 2.0, an AutoCAD compatible two dimensional block library of schematic symbols developed to assist in the creation of single line isometric drawings, has been upgraded to include the functionality of DesignCenter, a feature of AutoCAD that aids in the placement of Victaulic products. The free software and upgrade are available on CD-Rom or for download at www.victaulic.com.
