AD OPT Technologies Launches Altitude Manpower Planning System

MONTREAL, CANADA, August 14, 2002 -AD OPT Technologies Inc. ("AD OPT") (TSX: AOP) a leading developer and vendor of advanced workforce management solutions, today announced the official launch of their Altitude® Manpower Planning (MPP) system - the latest airline software solution to join the renowned Altitude suite of products.

Under the current economic environment, airlines must maximize operational efficiency and reduce expenses. Now more than ever, establishing the proper crew staffing levels has become essential. AD OPT's Altitude MPP provides airline organizations with the tools needed to plan optimal and cost effective crew manpower levels, required to efficiently optimize a projected fleet schedule plan. A powerful cost analysis tool, Altitude MPP allows planners to evaluate different options or scenarios, even long-term schedules proposed by the marketing department.

"Our team of scheduling specialists has conducted extensive research with current clients and prospects to determine the pending needs of the airline industry," said Tom Ivaskiv, President and CEO, AD OPT. "Altitude MPP offers several key advantages over existing manpower planning solutions, including; the ability to run comprehensive 'what if" scenarios and quickly react to unforeseen crew shortages. As the most robust manpower planning tool on the market, we believe that Altitude MPP is well positioned to capitalize on the growing demand for an efficient and cost-effective manpower planning tool."

Both short-term and long-term planning is possible with Altitude's Manpower Planning system. Integrated by a common data system, Altitude MPP allows airlines to establish and maintain manpower requirements. Once the long-term plan has been established, the system is used for short-term planning and performing the equipment bid award. One of the main differentiating features of the Altitude MPP system is its capability to provide sufficient staffing levels of qualified and properly trained crewmembers for every applicable category of aircraft, taking training capacity into consideration.

"As the only system currently on the market that offers all the functionalities necessary to plan every aspect of crew staffing while concurrently allowing the operation of this plan and its maintenance to be conducted daily, we consider Altitude MPP to be the "best emerging new product" on the market," added Paul Bourgon, Divisional Vice President, Altitude. "A stand-alone solution or fully integrated with our PBS system, Altitude MPP dynamically complies with company and regulatory rules."

When addressing all these aspects through an integrated technology such as the one proposed with the AD OPT system, significant cost savings can be realized. The system is applicable to both pilots and flight attendants.
