GE Fanuc Releases CIMPLICITY® HMI Plant Edition(TM) Version 6.0



New VCR Playback Function Speeds Process Analysis

CHICAGO - October 21, 2002 - GE Fanuc Automation North America, Inc., an affiliate of the General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), announces the release of CIMPLICITY® HMI Plant Edition(TM) Version 6.0. This new version of the award-winning CIMPLICITY HMI Plant Edition software features CIMPLICITY SQL 2000 and VCR-like screen playback capabilities as well as view, alarm, and paging enhancements to help improve database archiving and reporting, speed process analysis, and decrease plant response time to manufacturing crises. GE Fanuc is showcasing CIMPLICITY HMI Plant Edition Version 6.0 at the Instrumentation, Systems and Automation (ISA) Conference and Exhibition, Chicago, October 21-24, 2002, Booth #2440.

Now available, CIMPLICITY HMI Plant Edition Version 6.0 offers a new option, Visual CIMPLICITY Replay (VCR). The VCR option allows users to play back historical logged data through their graphic screens via a virtual remote. The VCR option, combined with CIMPLICITY SQL 2000, can help users quickly analyze production and process problems for greater manufacturing uptime.

New alarming technology features a historical viewer, class enhancements, sound extension and dynamic value updates in the alarm display. Additionally, GE Fanuc has expanded view capabilities for point description visibility and thumbnail support. Other new features include: support for Windows XP(TM) Operating System, complete electronic documentation in HTML format, and OPC Client Communication enhancements.
