Overview
IBM Tivoli® Monitoring for Network Performance (ITM NP) Version 2.1 monitors, records, and interactively reports network performance and utilization for TCP/IP resources in an enterprise environment. It provides the analysis of traffic flow, transit times, and component use which can assist network tuning, problem determination, and validation of service level agreements. ITM NP can help you meet the tactical needs of today, and also the strategic needs of tomorrow by combining the power of the enterprise servers with the flexibility and ease of use of a workstation client.
The ITM NP V2.1 offering consists of two products: the IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance Version 2.1 TCP/IP program itself (formerly known as IBM Tivoli NetView® for TCP/IP Performance), and the IBM Tivoli NetView Performance Monitor Version 2.7 program. IBM Tivoli NetView Performance Monitor V2.7 function has not changed with this release of the ITM NP offering. The IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance V2.1 program provides the following capabilities.

IBM Tivoli Monitoring for Network Performance enables you to:
Monitor the performance of the IBM z/OS® TCP/IP resources and connections in your network from a role-based Web interface.
Store real-time performance data in a central DB2® database and integrate with Tivoli Data Warehouse to retain historical data. This data is used to generate reports for trending analysis and capacity planning.
Use NetView Integrated TCP/IP Services Component autodiscovery and SmartSet technology to help easily define which resources to monitor. Configuration wizards provide a quick and easy mechanism to help you determine which types of data to collect and how often to collect it.
Help manage your z/OS TCP/IP environment, of virtually any size, leveraging the new Communications Server for z/OS performance monitoring interfaces.
This scalable solution integrates enhanced support for TCP/IP performance monitoring with existing SNA management to help provide one-stop management of today's hybrid networks.
