QAD Launches Products to Support the Demand-Driven Enterprise
New Modules Boost Global Manufacturers' Insight and Responsiveness to Customers
DENVER, May 8, 2006 - QAD Inc. (NASDAQ: QADI), a leading provider of enterprise software solutions for global manufacturers, today unveiled three new product modules that enhance the customer management capabilities of its flagship enterprise software for manufacturing operations. The new products, built on the company's Global Enterprise Edition software, QAD GXE, dramatically improve multi-national manufacturers' ability to understand, manage and respond to global customer demand, helping QAD customers pursue and manage more profitable operations, new lines of business and new markets.
According AMR Research, "The operating difference between push supply chains with computers attached and information-rich DDSNs is dramatically superior flexibility in manufacturing and distribution. The data proving this includes time to market for new products that has been slashed 50% to 70% across industries, inventory to sales ratios that are less than half of what they were two decades ago, and the number of unique products available that are 10 times more today than in 1980." Because changes in demand can impact a company's worldwide operations, from financials to the factory floor, the new QAD Demand Management module is designed to equip manufacturers to better assess demand data from diverse sources, leading to more accurate forecasts and fresh opportunities to increase revenues and decrease costs. And because multi-national operations and lean mandates for optimal use of facilities worldwide have further complicated order management, QAD Distributed Order Management simplifies and centralizes order-taking and invoicing, as well as provides global visibility into inventory, customer credit status and risk. o QAD Demand Management. A demand management engine and tools for inventory optimization, planning and promotions management enhance collaboration with customers and boost manufacturers' ability to enter new markets and introduce new product lines, as well as integrate acquisitions. The QAD Demand Management suite is designed to be completely configurable, scalable and easy to deploy, as well as easy to access through a Web-based interface, for industry-leading value at a lower cost than competing solutions.
o QAD Distributed Order Management. Rule- and role-based order management tools accommodate the latest business models including ownership and sourcing. Automation of manual processes and improved visibility into orders worldwide help reduce operating costs and improve order cycle time as well as the accuracy of order promise. o QAD Configurator. o QAD Production Scheduler now features a work order workbench to help balance capacity, demand and supply and to better set customer expectations.

Availability
QAD Demand Management, QAD Distributed Order Management, QAD Configurator and the updated QAD Production Scheduler are currently being sold to early adopter customers and will be made generally available in due course. QAD GXE and local enterprise editions are now shipping with the Microsoft .NET Framework-based user interface.
