Estacado Systems Announces the Release of the SIPWright Presence Server

DALLAS, May 16 -- Estacado Systems, a provider of SIP/IMS solutions and services, today announced the general availability of its SIPWright Presence Server. This product is fully compliant with the IETF SIMPLE specifications assuring interoperability with standards based SIP and IMS networks. The server has been designed with scalability as an attribute, enabling cost effective solutions for both enterprise and service provider networks.

Presence allows subscribers through their communication device to publish their willingness and ability to communicate, via voice, instant messaging, or video. "Estacado Systems' technical experts were instrumental in adding extensions to the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to support Presence in the SIMPLE working group," said Ben Campbell, VP of Engineering. "The SIPWright Presence Server implements these extensions allowing subscribers to distribute presence information to each other, and controlling who sees it."

The SIPWright Presence Server features include: support for publication of and subscriptions to presence information, presence authorization, watcher information subscriptions, and server clustering for reliability and scalability. Configuration and provisioning is supported through compliant SOAP interfaces. In addition the product includes a web-based OAM&P tool.

The SIPWright Presence Server, built upon Estacado System's high- performance SIPBasis Change Agent Framework, is designed to deliver carrier grade performance. The Change Agent Framework allows a subscriber's presence information to be generated from many different input sources using highly customizable composition logic. For example, a subscriber might be reachable from a mobile handset, a desk phone, and an instant messaging client. Using the Change Agent's composition features, the subscriber's presence information can be based on all three.

Ease of customization distinguishes Estacado Systems' SIPWright product line, allowing an enterprise or service provider to deploy future-proofed solutions that accommodate new applications and evolving standards. In addition to the Presence Server, the SIPWright line includes the NAT Traversal TURN/STUN Server, the Proxy Server, and the MSRP Relay Server.
