Oracle Introduces Application Integration Architecture Foundation Pack

Offering Delivers a Comprehensive, Standardized Approach to Business Process Integration

ORACLE OPENWORLD, SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 12 / / Oracle today unveiled Oracle(R) Application Integration Architecture
Foundation Pack, a key component of Oracle Application Integration
Architecture, an open, standards-based platform for business process
integration across Oracle, third-party and custom applications.
o Oracle Application Integration Architecture delivers pre-built Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA) integrations across Oracle ERP, CRM and
industry applications. Foundation Pack takes this one step further by
giving customers and partners the tools to implement their own
composite business processes across all applications.
o Oracle Application Integration Architecture Foundation Pack is expected
to be available in thirty days.

Oracle Application Integration Architecture Foundation Pack Details
o Developed specifically for Oracle Fusion Middleware SOA Suite,
Foundation Pack gives customers access to Oracle's standards-based
objects, services, methodologies and infrastructure components to
develop their own end-to-end process integrations.
o By providing customers with a proven reference architecture and
reusable Web services, Foundation Pack is designed to help
significantly reduce the time, cost and risk associated with
implementing Service Oriented Architecture projects.
o At the heart of Foundation Pack are Oracle's standards based Enterprise
Business Objects and Services, which offer a common model approach for
application integration. These standards-based Enterprise Business
Objects and Services provide the foundation for creating composite
processes while also helping ensure integration durability and
sustainability.
o Foundation Pack allows customers to build process integrations using
the same proven methodology Oracle uses to develop its pre-built
Process Integration Packs, giving customers access to the same levels
of integration development efficiency, control and visibility that
Oracle employs for its own products. By including a proven methodology
coupled with a reference architecture, customers have the tools they
need to save valuable time and resources, so they can focus on
improving their business.
o The infrastructure components included with Foundation Pack will
provide tools that will help users streamline the development process,
including the Business Service Repository, which offers visibility into
what services are utilized and how they relate, and the Composite
Application Validation System, which allows customers to run complete
tests of the integrations.

Supporting Quote
o "We consistently hear that today's businesses need flexibility and
openness in their processes. Oracle Application Integration
Architecture Foundation Pack provides the capabilities customers need
to rapidly develop their own sustainable integrations so when business
needs to adapt, IT can move with it," said Ed Abbo, Senior Vice
President, Applications Development, Oracle.
o "By providing a complete package for application integration needs,
from Oracle's prepackaged Process Integration Packs to the newly
announced Foundation Packs, Oracle is helping customers save
significant development time and effort. A methodology like this lets
customers concentrate on adding business value, not on architectural
details," said Michael Fauscette, VP, Software Applications Group, IDC.
