Novagraph, Inc. Announces the Release of Chartist 5.0

Novagraph Chartist(TM) - Flowcharts and Organization Charts

Richardson, Texas (July 12, 2006) - Novagraph, Inc. announces the release of Chartist 5.0, a comprehensive software application for drawing flowcharts and similar diagrams. New features include support for color gradients in diagram objects; additional graphics import formats; enhanced line and border style properties; larger toolbar icons; preservation of additional default settings between sessions and improved text justification controls.

Chartist is a fast and compact application for Microsoft Windows platforms. With Chartist you can create, edit, and print flowcharts, organization charts or other diagrams that use similar components. You can easily import graphics created by Chartist into other applications, including word processors, desktop publishing, presentation graphics, and web pages.

Chartist focuses on speed and ease of use. Users can quickly install Chartist and become productive. You can use Chartist effectively right away, set it aside, and come back to it in a month or so and use it again without having to relearn a complex application. Most users need to draw diagrams from time to time, and do not like an over complicated application.

Version 5.0 of Chartist includes several enhancements. You can use vertical or horizontal color gradients as symbol backgrounds. TIFF, JPEG, GIF, and PNG graphics import formats have been added. Lines and symbol borders can have a custom thickness setting, and border styles are supported for all closed shapes. The toolbar buttons have been increased in size, with additional color for ease of use. A button has been added for the "Active Planes" function, which is used often in complex diagrams. Settings for symbol and line default properties are now preserved per user between sessions. The symbol text justification controls now operate similarly to most word processing applications.

Whether you are a businessperson who needs to quickly and easily document your organization's structure, a software developer who needs to commit a program flow to paper, a quality manager, or a student, Chartist provides the tools that you need.

The Standard edition of Chartist is priced at $49.00, and the Professional edition (Chartist-Pro) is priced at $89.00. Advanced features in Chartist-Pro include group editing functions for more complex diagrams, symbol and text rotation, the ability to link or embed objects into symbols as pictures or hyperlinks, a spelling checker with dictionaries for several languages, and support for an XML data exchange file format. Chartist runs on Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and later operating systems.
