New UMTS Library Now Available for QualNet® 4.5.1 and EXata® 2.0

- Newest library makes identifying problems and troubleshooting complex networks faster and more efficient, accelerating time-to-market for UMTS devices and networks -

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 /- Scalable Network Technologies, Inc. (SNT), a leader in wireless network evaluation, announced the release of their new UMTS Library for the company's software products, QualNet(R) and EXata(R). QualNet and EXata are the industry-leading modeling and simulation/emulation software tools for predicting wireless and mixed platform network and network device performance in both controlled and real-world conditions.

The UMTS Library enables mobile network operators and equipment manufacturers to proactively address the challenges of wireless networks by quickly and accurately identifying problems - enabling faster and more efficient troubleshooting of complex networks. "What if" analysis is possible for evaluating impacts such as changes in network user demand, increased application traffic or changes in air interface configuration parameters, in a safe and repeatable synthetic environment - at extremely low cost.

The UMTS Library, built to the 3GPP7 standard, leverages the speed, scalability and high fidelity of SNT's network models to enable faster time-to-market for UMTS devices and networks. With QualNet and EXata, users can model and control the entire UMTS protocol stack on both the user and control plane level. Specific models included in the UMTS Library include HSDPA, WCDMA and 3G network components such as Mobiles, NodeB, RNC, HLR, VLR, SGSN and GGSN. Like all SNT model libraries, the UMTS Library includes full source code in C/C+ for development of proprietary algorithms and services.

Availability

The UMTS Library is available for QualNet 4.5.1 and EXata 2.0 as a free-standing model library. Users of the UMTS Library can take advantage of the vast range of models from other libraries such as Wireless, Advanced Wireless (WiMAX), and Urban Propagation to build more complex networks that operate in urban terrain channel conditions.

QualNet and EXata customers interested in evaluating the UMTS Library may request a demo by emailing sales@scalable-networks.com. For more details on the UMTS Library, download the UMTS data sheet.

About QualNet

QualNet is high-speed, ultra high-fidelity modeling and simulation software for designing and developing early-stage wireless and mixed-platform network and device performance under controlled conditions. QualNet is the only network modeling and simulation software built on patented parallel processing technology. The speed and scalability of QualNet's underlying technology enable rapid-cycle test iterations on up to thousands of network nodes.

QualNet runs on the Unix, Windows, Mac OS X and Linux operating systems, and its application interfaces enable seamless integration with a wide range of modeling & simulation, training and war gaming applications.

About EXata

EXata is ultra high-fidelity network emulation software for testing and evaluating wireless and mixed-platform network and devices in real-world conditions. EXata is the only network evaluation tool that can represent physical wireless networks as "software virtual networks" at real-time speed and interoperate with real physical networks. EXata SVNs are indistinguishable from real networks to applications, devices, and users. EXata supports hardware, software, and human-in-the loop testing and scales up to thousands of network nodes.

EXata runs on the Windows and Linux operating systems, and its application interfaces enable seamless integration with a wide range of modeling & simulation, training and war gaming applications.
