OpTier Enhances CoreFirst(TM) Performance and Reporting

Newest Version Provides Additional Platform Support, Installation Improvements and Updated Console Interface

NEW YORK, Oct. 3 / -- OpTier, the award-winning leader in transaction workload management, announced today that it has released a new version of CoreFirst(TM), the company's flagship product that dynamically assures IT business service levels and optimizes resources for the enterprise. CoreFirst has been enhanced to provide even easier, faster insight into IT performance and service level agreement (SLA) management with enhanced performance alerts and more granular reporting as well as stronger control over service levels.

A key component of this latest CoreFirst release is broad support for pervasive enterprise platforms, including SAP NetWeaver Application Server, SAP NetWeaver Portal as well as the Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise Database. Through the support of the NetWeaver Platform, CoreFirst now also provides visibility into legacy SAP system connections. This enables organizations to easily deploy CoreFirst within their application infrastructure while providing granular visibility across both new and legacy systems, making applications more reliable, available and scalable.

The upgrade also supports WebSphere and WebLogic portals which provide solid administration capabilities that reduce the complexity and cost of managing larger, multichannel portals for B2B and B2C relationships.

Developed with customer needs in mind CoreFirst 1.4 delivers significant upgrades designed to help IT staff manage transaction workloads throughout the organization. Additional benefits include:

Enhanced Alerts -- CoreFirst can now alert users to the status of specific, important transactions in real-time. Because CoreFirst tracks each transaction across all tiers, it offers the most accurate and precise performance alerts available today -- pinpointing problem areas -- not just problem symptoms. These alerts can be sent to enterprise consoles, mobile phones and pagers and other destinations to ensure that IT managers are alerted as early as possible to service issues.

Broad Protocol Support -- CoreFirst has been further enhanced to include LDAP support, which alerts users of service level degradation caused by application authentication. In addition, comprehensive support for JMS, MQ, AS/400 connectivity, Staffware (Tibco), Jcomm, P4 and JCo protocols are included in this version.

Greater Policy Management Control -- The Policy Manager now allows the user to prioritize a portion of all transactions and analyze the impact of such a "control group" policy. This allows for the gradual implementation of prioritization policies, which affords users the opportunity to gradually implement improvements in service, measuring benefits at every step.

New Web Based Graphical User Interface -- The slick look and feel of the CoreFirst dashboard now offers enhanced readability and usability. The CoreFirst Profiler, which details ongoing transaction activity collection and analysis, provides numerous new views and analysis reports, enabling users to drill down more quickly to manage and resolve performance issues.

"OpTier is the only company that can provide real-time prioritization and transaction monitoring within the multi-tier structure of today's IT environments and we continue to look for ways to improve upon the transaction visibility and service level control our customers have come to expect," said Israel Mazin, CEO of OpTier. "The enhancements we've made to the CoreFirst platform are a direct result of the feedback we have received from our current enterprise customers and we are confident that these upgrades will satisfy the needs of our future customers as well."

CoreFirst Version 1.4 is shipping today and available for multiple pervasive computing platforms.
