Overview
CICS® Interdependency Analyzer (CICS IA) for z/OS® V2.1 is a tool for use with CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) on the mainframe, to identify the resources used by CICS transactions and the relationships between them. Resources identified include those associated with transactions, programs, Basic Mapping Support (BMS) maps, files, temporary storage (TS) queues, transient data (TD) queues, 3270 Bridge facility, Web Services, CorbaServer, and Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs).

It also creates reports on DB2®, IMS, and WebSphere® MQ resources that are used by CICS. This information:

Provides improved capability and efficiency in maintaining and enhancing critical CICS applications
Helps to speed CICS application migration and reuse
Increases CICS system availability

Significant new capabilities are introduced in this new version:

A new Eclipse-based GUI enables easy access to the resource relationship data in the database and improved query management facilities. This is based on an XML API, which is available to the user.
Timer-based collection is introduced, with improvements to the CINT transaction, which allow the user to control when and in which CICS region the data collection is enabled.
A program / transaction exclude list is now available.
ISPF customization of installation jobs is added, making it easier to set up CICS IA for your environment
Tracking of run-time impact on application change is now automated, with the addition of program versioning.
A flag has been provided on EXEC CICS START to show if a REQID is present.
CICS System Definition (CSD) and group-list information is now collected.

Key prerequisites
CICS IA V2.1 may be used with CICS TS for OS/390® V1.3, or CICS TS for z/OS V2.2, V2.3, or V3.1.
