SEATTLE, March 13 /-- Isilon(R) Systems, the leader in clustered storage, today announced the release of the Isilon IQ Accelerator, the storage industry's first performance acceleration product, which can scale to more than 7 gigabytes per second of total aggregate throughput from a single file system and single cluster. The Isilon IQ Accelerator, released in conjunction with Isilon's new OneFS(R) 4.0 distributed file system (see separate release), serves as a dynamic expansion of Isilon's award-winning product line of Isilon IQ clustered storage systems.
With the new Isilon IQ Accelerator, customers can modularly increase the aggregate write and read throughput of their data storage without adding additional storage capacity. The result is a significant acceleration of business productivity and collaboration across the enterprise workflow while achieving unmatched price-performance in the storage industry. Coupled with Isilon's OneFS 4.0 with TrueScale(TM), the Isilon IQ Accelerator automatically joins any Isilon IQ storage cluster in 15 seconds and turbo-charges storage performance on the fly with no system downtime.
In conjunction with its release, Isilon also announced today that Zoic Studios and Cedars-Sinai are among customers already using the Isilon IQ Accelerator to boost their Isilon IQ clustered storage performance and accelerate their enterprise workflow and productivity.
