Lattice Technology Releases New XVL Studio U3D Option for 3D PDF

San Francisco, CA - September 12, 2006 - Lattice Technology, Inc., developers of the ultra-compressed XVL 3D format and industry leading 3D Publishing applications, today announced the availability of the XVL Studio Option for U3D. The new XVL Studio Option generates a U3D file and is available with the new XVL Studio version 6.1.

U3D format is a standard document format already being used within PDF. By supporting U3D, Lattice Technology allows customers to communicate 3D data to everyone, all of the time, while still being able to leverage the superior benefits of XVL as a 3D publishing format. As part of Lattice's 3D everywhere data distribution strategy, the new XVL Studio U3D Option means that compatibility between Lattice's XVL format and Adobe's PDF is now assured and fully supported.

"Supporting industry standards like U3D is important for Lattice Technology and our customers", said Bill Barnes, general manager, Lattice Technology, Inc. "We recognize that our customers need to share 3D data throughout their organizations, suppliers and customers and we will support the tools necessary for them to achieve their goals."

The new XVL Studio Option can convert a products structure tree, geometry, color, viewpoint, and animations from XVL to U3D format. Adobe Systems Acrobat 3D can generate 3D PDF by using the U3D format. Since 3D PDF is displayed with Adobe Reader, any documentation with 3D data can be distributed in PDF format.

The U3D Studio Option is available for $995.00. Lattice is also planning to offer a U3D import function with the next version of XVL Studio due in January.
