With the evolution of the Remote Desktop service in the latest versions of Windows, their popularity is on the rise, both among home users and corporate network administrators. It's typical that the size of the desktop when working remotely is considerably smaller than usual. This is done purposefully to reduce broadcast images and save traffic.
