Shunra VE 5.0 introduces a new dimension of insight into application performance across the network, giving users the critical analysis capabilities they need to make informed decisions about distributed application performance, service levels to remote end-users, and infrastructure investments, before rollout into production. With this new version, Shunra VE delivers the complete solution for testing networked applications, and is ideal for initiatives such as data center relocation projects, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, ERP/CRM deployments such as SAP and Oracle, WAN optimisation and acceleration, VoIP deployments, and application development offshoring.

New patent-pending features in Shunra VE 5.0 include:
Root cause analysis. VE Analyser is a powerful new feature that extends Shunra VE's comprehensive reporting capabilities by automatically providing drill-down metrics on each individual transaction. This enables users to quickly and easily isolate the root causes of problems - in the application or on the network -- without the need for external analysis tools. VE Analyser reports include:
o Transaction breakdown summary (client, network, server)
o Application efficiency analysis, including application turns and
bounce diagrams
o Throughput and bandwidth utilization
o Network and application error analysis
o Voice quality in MOS and R values for each remote location
o Video over IP analysis including MDI and VQFactor reports
o Playback of recorded voice and video conversations
o A SIP conversation diagram, ideal for problem troubleshooting
Automatic measurement and comparison of transaction response times. The new VE Transaction Manager measures and documents each transaction's response times, making it easier than ever to compare response times across remote locations, or across different network technologies, such as Frame Relay vs.
QoS, IPv4 vs. IPv6, bandwidth upgrades vs. application acceleration solutions, etc.
Simultaneous testing by multiple teams. The new VE Multi-User feature enables multiple test teams to run different tests in parallel through its web-based interface, making it an ideal solution for any IT group to test the network impact on the application simultaneously.
Test backup and disaster recovery scenarios. With Shunra VE 5.0, users can now assign metric thresholds, such as utilisation or packet delivery rate, to a network link which, when exceeded, will trigger alternative routes and other pre-defined events in the network simulation scenario. This feature supports advanced dynamic routing mechanisms such as OSPF and RIP.

Shunra VE 5.0 includes an extensive library of real-life network recordings, including cable modems, DSL, WiFi and cellular, captured from network links all over the world. This pre-recorded real-life data makes it even easier to configure real world network scenarios and increases the accuracy of simulation sessions.
