Original Press Release:
Freedom from Paper with iMaint Mobile.NET
Greensboro, NC - DPSI, a developer of maintenance software, has released iMaint Mobile.NET, an add-on to their state-of-the-art enterprise asset management solution product, iMaint. iMaint is an n-tier, client server, web-architected system that supports Windows 2000, Oracle 8i, Microsoft SQL Server 7, and either a Windows client or IE/Netscape Web client.
iMaint Mobile.NET was recently selected as a Bronze Award winner in the Plant Engineering Product of the Year 2003 competition.
iMaint Mobile extends the capabilities of iMaint to a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA). Any Pocket PC 2002 compatible PDA is supported. Users can create a paperless process by downloading work orders and physical inventory count lists to the device, entering work order details and counts, and uploading the data back into iMaint. iMaint Mobile.NET uses PDAs to put the power of wireless computing into the hands of your staff, giving them the freedom to go anywhere, anytime and access your maintenance system.
With Windows CE 3.0 Bar Code devices from Socket Communications, such as the In-Hand Laser Scanner and the CF Wand Scanner, users can increase data collection capabilities significantly by scanning bar codes instead of entering data manually into the units. The iMaint Mobile module also includes pre-defined bar code labels that print part, asset and other information directly from the iMaint database.
