Revelation Software Concepts Extends Automated Change Control Safety to Non-ABAP SAP Technologies
Service Pack 17 for Rev-Trac users extends unique Overtake and Overwrite Protection to Java and other non-ABAP stacks in SAP solution-based information systems
MELBOURNE, Australia, July 21 /-- Revelation Software Concepts Pty Ltd (RSC), an SAP(R) software partner, today announced Service Pack 17 for its SAP change control technology, Rev-Trac(R). Service Pack 17 continues RSC's SAP change management leadership by extending overtake and overwrite protection currently available for ABAP(TM)-language software to the additional Java and other non-ABAP stacks increasingly used as SAP applications begin spanning multiple technologies.
RSC's OOPS (Overtake and Overwrite Prevention System) prevents introduction of out-of-sequence transports and object versions, which can seriously disrupt IT production systems. OOPS has been available for more than seven years to regular objects and configurations contained in traditional ABAP transports and has become a trusted technology. This is the first time that same protection has been extended to mixed-stack SAP solution technologies.
Since the release of Service Pack 16, regardless of the technology stack, Rev-Trac users have been able to manage both ABAP and non-ABAP SAP changes from one place and with minimal manual intervention by leveraging CTS+ in SAP NetWeaver AS. By utilizing CTS+, SAP change control teams can immediately deploy dual-stack or single-stack Java, ABAP or mixed ABAP/Java-based and, eventually, other non-ABAP transports to any combination of destinations. With the release of Service Pack 17 Rev-Trac ensures migrations can be done safely and in the right sequence, so that only the correct version of a change is ever introduced into a production landscape. System accidents are prevented and development is controlled as SAP-based landscapes evolve and span different types of technology and overlay multiple platforms within the system.

Companies now have a single change control process to tie together changes from both ABAP and Java environments as well as to incorporate non-ABAP files, such as those used with SAP NetWeaver Portal, SAP NetWeaver Exchange Infrastructure and J2EE elements.
